Records of Warrior is a strategy game with a fantasy theme. The game was developed and published by Taiwan developer SoftWorld. It was released in the United States in 1992. It is a single-player game and runs on the DOS platform.
The player is transported into a fantasy world, where they need to travel far and wide, from one province to the other to compete in Mahjong games. It is a tile-based game with Chinese characters and symbols. The player needs to win each game in order to advance to the next level. There is a time limit on the mahjongg games, which keeps getting shorter as one progresses in the game.
This increases the difficulty level considerably. Apart from mahjong skills, a player has at their disposal, an item called 'Magic', which can be used to get out of difficult situations. The game can be played with a mouse or Keyboard. Records of warrior can be considered a basic Mahjong game, with limited features and very few embellishments. It lacks the variety available in the mahjong games that have come out in the market in recent years. However, The game has decent graphics and an interesting plot.
The game language is almost entirely Chinese, although it's not very hard for a non-Chinese speaker to follow. The scores are displayed on the right side of the screen and the time is on the left. Although not a superior-level game, Records of Warrior could be a decent option for beginners and mahjong enthusiasts.
