RedCat 2: De Ontvoering van Prinses Dana

REDCAT 2 is an adventure game with puzzle elements that was released in 1995 on the DOS platform. The game was developed and published by a Netherlands-based company, RedCat Software. It is a sequel to the first RedCat game with new enemies and more items to pick up.
The player assumes the role of RedCat who is tasked with rescuing princess Dana, who has been captured by some evil mice. The mice are controlled by a Wizard, who has an army of mice and other creatures to foil any rescue plans for the princess. To rescue the princess the player must complete 8 levels of the game and destroy the enemies before a final showdown with the evil wizard. What sets Redcat apart from other action heroes is his comical yet lovable antics.
The Redcat makes unique poses while using fairly traditional weapons which add to the humorous feel of the game. Also significant is the use of vibrant colors like gold, red and pink that make the screen visually appealing. The bomb effects and other action sequences have been well executed. The enemy attacks are unconventional at times and take the player by surprise, although it’s not hard to subdue them. The difficulty level of the game is moderate, and the background graphics are not as appealing as one would like. The player gets a side-view perspective. The game language is Dutch; however, the plot is not hard to follow for non-Dutch speakers. There is also very little text, so nothing in the game to pose any discomfort to non-Dutch speakers.
