Description
Rescate en el Golfo is an action game that was released in Spain in 1990. It was developed by True Soft and published by
Opera Soft S.A. The game was released on the DOS, ZX Spectrum, and Amstrad CPC. It is a single-player game.
The game features a lot of hand-to-hand combat in the classic beat 'em up style. The main protagonist in the game is Ricky,
whose girlfriend was on a plane that was hijacked by some terrorists of middle-eastern origins. Ricky needs to save his girlfriend
along with other passengers from the terrorists in time before the terrorists blow up the Jumbo jet. The player assumes the role
of Ricky and engages in duels with the terrorists until only one of them is left standing. The player needs to eliminate as many
terrorists as possible. The first duel takes place below the crane, where Ricky needs to kill all his enemies so he can enter the plane.
The player is advised to check the plane doors as there could be more enemies lurking behind them. The second section of the game takes
place inside the passenger plane. The inside of the plane is divided into sub-sections, which are connected through doors and chutes.
Ricky engages in hand-to-hand combat with the terrorists inside the plane, however, he needs to make sure no civilian is harmed during
the fights. He needs to eliminate all the terrorists in order to free the hostages. Points are awarded for each enemy killed.
The game can be played with a keyboard or joystick.
