Description
Roboman is a 1989 Action genre game released in DOS Platform. This game was developed and published by XOR Corporation. This is a side-scrolling game.
The game has different levels where Roboman has to jump around and burst the balloons by touching it. This game is one of the fine examples of the collect-things-and-find-the-exit genre, pretty much similar to Lode runner. After bursting balloons, you need to find the key to exit the level. The first level is quite easy, it is to give you an idea as to how to play the game.
You get extra points when you pop all the balloons in the room. The level gets harder when the springboards come in. You need to jump in those springboards to gain higher ground and pop up the balloons. If you fall from a specific height, you will die right there. The level restarts. The level gets even harder when the floor starts disappearing, so if you jump through a spring board, chances are that the floor will disappear. You have to time yourself and jump accordingly. There are 4 lives given in the game. If you lose all the 4 lives, then you have to start over again from level 1.
Soundtrack of the game is in the title screen. There are only game sounds during the levels. Graphics of the game is good according to 1989. You can actually identify the Roboman.
It is difficult to understand why they named it Roboman. There is no such thing as a robot shooting guns or anything like that. This game does stand up to the level of lode runner, and it is good for beginners. If you would like to feel the retro games, then try it.
