Rainbow Arts was a game publisher and developer founded in 1984 in Gütersloh, Germany. Early in the 80's they gathered many people from all over Germany, like Armin Gessert (founder of the company Spellbound), Thomas Hertzler (of Blue Byte), Chris Huelsbeck, Manfred Trenz, and others. All their games from that time were mainly made for the C64 and the Amiga and only very few were converted to the IBM-PC later on.

Description
ROCK 'N ROLL is a real-time strategy and puzzle game. It was initially released in Germany in 1990 and in several other European countries the following year.
The game is available on Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, and DOS platforms. It was developed by Rainbow Arts Software GmbH.
To play the game, the player needs to roll a ball through a maze full of obstacles in the form of traps, ramps, breakable floors, laser barriers, etc.
There are a total of 32 levels in the game, all having similar gameplay. The player needs to control the ball so as to avoid collision with other objects,
prevent it from falling off the platform and also save it from getting caught in the traps placed around the maze. It becomes increasingly difficult to do so,
as the ball gains considerable speed during its course. However, there is also significant inertia that helps in keeping things realistic and helps to keep the ball
on course. Getting caught in the traps would result in losing a significant amount of energy, and falling off the platform would end the level.
However, there are several useful items like keys and switches to open doors or blow up obstacles. One can also use these switches to create objects that can repair
broken tiles on the maze or bombs to destroy barriers. There are also parachutes available to prevent the ball from falling off the platform. However, these items
need to be purchased using coins, which the player needs to collect along the way. The effects of these switches vary in each level.
