Description
Secret Agent: The Escape is an action video game released in the United States in 1996. The game was developed and published by PhreAk Software and runs on the DOS
platform. The protagonist is a secret service agent who is trapped in a high-security prison. The Player needs to help the secret agent break out of the prison.
At the start of the game, the secret agent is unarmed and only has his fighting skills to rely on, especially their ninja kick. As he fights his way out, he needs to
cross a maze and collect objects to aid his escape. The first object collected is an in-game message which points the player to ordering instructions. Once the agent
acquires a gun, the game mainly becomes a shooting game wherein the player needs to shoot everything in sight to escape the prison. However, the prison guards have
weapons way more powerful than the agent’s Goo gun. The player is also provided a map of the prison which makes it easier for him to find his way out.
The game menu is displayed at the start of the game, on the backdrop of the flag of the United States. The menu provides several options like Start, load, save, and
Exit game, sound and music options, and input devices. Points are earned for each enemy killed and are displayed in the bottom right corner of the screen along with
the number of lives left. The items collected are displayed on a bar at the bottom of the screen. The player needs to place the items on the bar after collecting them.
Getting hit by a prison guard marks the end of the game.
