Description
Speed is an educational game that is inspired by the IMAX movie of the same name. The game was released in 1993 on the DOS platform. It is one of the last floppy games of the
era before the advent of CD-ROMs.
Speed is a fun educational game that attempts to educate kids about the dynamics and physics of speed and mankind’s efforts towards mastering speed from the beginning of time.
The game provides useful information about the discovery of the wheel and how the lives of human beings were altered by it. It gives a brief introduction to our journey from
the bicycle to fast cars and airplanes. The game provides insights into the physics of light and why it is a measure of speed. It provides a window into the past through which
we get glimpses of how our ancestors, through their very limited knowledge of their universe, had learned the importance of speed and tried to tame it through more efficient
use of weapons and tools. The ability to run fast was often a matter of life or death for pre-historic humans, and therefore its knowledge has been crucial to our survival.
Acquiring mastery of speed not only helped in making our lives better but is essential to the proper understanding of our universe and resolving its many mysteries.
The game is divided into sections that can be re-visited at any point after pausing the game. There are also options to rewind and fast-forward. The text is fairly easy
to follow and can be understood by kids of all ages. There are interesting games and puzzles related to the section.
