Spirou

Spirou is an action video game developed by Infogrames Europe SA and is based on the popular Belgian comics Spirou et Fantasio. The game was released in 1996 in the United States followed by several European countries. It runs on the DOS platform.
The game has an interesting plot featuring Spirou and Fantasio, who are journalists and close aides of Count of Champignac , who is a brilliant scientist and inventor. The adventure begins when the count is abducted from an event in New York where he was about to present his latest invention. Behind is kidnapping is an evil cyborg called Cyanida or Cyanure. The count’s invention is crucial to her sinister plans of enslaving the human race. This incident sends Spirou and Fantasio on a wild goose chase to find out the whereabouts of the abducted scientist and rescue him from the clutches of his kidnapper. The player takes control of Spirou, who along with his pet squirrel ventures out the on the quest to rescue the count, while Fantasio remains at the scene of the crime trying to gather valuable clues which might indicate the hiding place of Cyanida and her captive. Spirou along with his beloved pet Snip need to cross several barriers and move through different cities and hub spots trying to locate the abducted scientist.
The only weapon at the player’s disposal is his own ability to jump, run, climb ladders, and duck at any signs of danger. It is only at the fourth level of the game that Spirou acquires a gun. The player gets three lives after which the game will come to an end, and the player would have failed to complete his goal.
