Spoils of War

Spoils of War is a strategy game with a fantasy theme. The game was released in Germany in 1991 and is available on the DOS, Amiga, and Commodore 64 platforms. Spoils of war was designed and published by the German Design Group, and also goes by the name Conquestador.
Spoils of War takes place on an imaginary planet called Paradise, which is almost identical to Earth. It is a game about the discovery, colonization, and conquest of faraway lands. The game can be played by up to 4 players. Each player is a commander who commands several explorers.
These explorers carry out the command of the player. The goal is to achieve power and influence over foreign lands. The game offers 9 different start positions, load and save functions, 19 difficulty levels, and 4 seasons. The game can be played against another player, or against a computer-generated opponent. 4 players can team up into two groups to play the game. The game is divided into different phases, each with a specific activity.
These activities include conquering new lands, building cities and developing them to be a socio-economic strongholds, and raging wars to either protect or infiltrate territories ruled by a different commander. There are both naval and land battles to fight. Spoils of War has done an impeccable job in creating a naval surface combat technical simulation. The battles are tactical that require a strong strategy to win. The player must ensure adequate war supplies and choose a team of trained and battle-ready troops if they want to be included in the hall of fame dedicated to the best of the conquerors.
