Description
Stanford Wong Video Poker is a strategy game, based on a game of poker. It was developed by Villa Crespo Software, who are known to be pioneers in card games.
The game was released in 1990 and is available on the DOS platform.
Stanford Wong Video Poker is a poker simulation with a solid algorithm that was developed using real-life probability theories and statistics.
The famed poker player Stanford Young has contributed a lot of his knowledge and skills to the design of the algorithm. As a result, the game is accurate
in finding the best play for any hand. There is an in-game tutor available who gives helpful tips. The player can run simulations before playing a hand to
get an estimate of the payback. The game is capable of doing complex mathematical calculations at the drop of a hat which makes the game far more interesting.
The player has the option to play standard cards or casino video poker cards. They can also choose to use or not use animations. The program, on asked, can help
with choosing the best play on every hand. The program will also alert the player in case they misplay a hand. One can play against another player or a
computer-generated opponent. The game is an excellent practice session for a budding poker player, who wants to understand the basics of the game. Stanford Wong
Video Poker can be controlled using the keyboard or the mouse. Interestingly, it was one of the first card games that can be played with the mouse. With a
near-accurate algorithm, easy interface, and many other interactive features, Stanford Wong Video Poker has withstood the test of time and can be enjoyed even
today.
