Description
Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Transinium Challenge is an adventure game, based on the TV series franchise Star Trek. The game was developed by Trans Fiction
Systems Inc. and released in 1990. It is available in DOS and Macintosh.
The game is based entirely on Star Trek, featuring animated versions of all the popular Star Trek characters and the famed starship USS Enterprise.
The player takes control of the commander of the Enterprise William Riker. A space station called Aquila is under attack by a powerful group of aliens and it
falls upon will and his crew members to discover the reason for the attack and the ways to thwart it. There are several puzzle elements in the game that the crew
will need to solve in order to unravel the mystery. The quest takes them far and about in space, making acquaintances with unknown aliens and leading them to the
ruins of an ancient civilization. The team hunts for clues and evaluates the found objects while maintaining correspondence with the original Star trek characters.
Their search also leads them to unknown planets and planetary bodies in space. The Transinium Challenge is an absolute delight for all Star trek fans due to the
life-like animations of their favorite Star trek characters and objects. Although not very challenging, the puzzle elements in the game are fun to explore, with
a lot of effort being put into preserving the essence of the TV show. The game provides a third-view perspective and can be played with the keyboard, mouse, or
joystick. However, the interface is point-and-select; no typing option is available.
