Description
Storm is an action and adventure game released in 1997. The game was published simultaneously in the United States and the United Kingdom
by Mastertronic Ltd. It was released on the DOS platform but is available in several others including Amstrad CPC, Commodore 16 and 64, and ZX spectrum.
It is the first game of the Storm series.
Storm is set in a barbarian fantasy world, where the central character is a huge Barbarian man called Storm. When Storm’s wife Corrine gets kidnapped by
an evil character Una Cum and gets locked into his almost impenetrable library, Storm along with his wizard friend set out to rescue her. They also take
this opportunity to acquire treasures and weapons from the dungeon, after killing anything and everything that comes in their way by yielding their axes.
The game can be played by one or two players. In the beginning, the game asks for the number of players after which it proceeds to display instructions.
The game then proceeds to Una’s lair. To reach Corrine, the player must cross 40 levels, in the form of 40 rooms, each laden with treasure and monsters.
The rooms are all the same size with different layouts. On top of the screen are displayed the scores and energy levels. Points are earned for killing
monsters and finding treasure. The game provides a top view of the dungeons. The graphics of the game are dated and not very clear. Storm was followed by
The Fear: Storm II.
