Description
Super Trio is a platform game, that was released in South Korea in the year 1995. It belongs to the 'Action' genre
and was released on DOS. The game was developed and published by the South Korean firm Dong Sung.
The game starts with visuals of an evil vampire being resurrected inside a huge castle, ready to wreak havoc on earth.
The visuals are accompanied by ominous music which sets the premise for a dark and sinister plot. However, the dark theme
is quickly abandoned as the player progresses in the game, giving way to a more bright and more playful approach, with
a strong resemblance to Super Mario. There are three protagonists in the game, a mouse named Jake, a cat called Tomi,
and the dog Bruno. A player can select either of the three characters, although they all have the same powers.
The game is a 'double-player', so one can team up with another player. The game progresses as the central character makes
his way toward the castle, jumping over platforms and enemies. The background is colorful with several modern-day objects
along the way, accompanied by peppy and upbeat music. There is a strict time limit at each level of the game.
To kill his enemies, the character uses a boomerang-like weapon. For every enemy he kills, the player is awarded 100 points.
The player can also grab extra lives and weapon upgrades along the way.
What Super Trio lacks in inventiveness, it makes up with cleverly designed levels and a fun backdrop with vibrant colors.
This game can keep a player hooked for hours.
