Description
Super Trix is an action arcade game that was released on the DOS platform in 1993. The game was published by the Israeli
newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth as a promotional campaign, in collaboration with the popular beverages brand Coca-Cola.
Yediroth Ahronoth is currently Israel's largest newspaper in terms of sales and circulation. Super Trix was developed to promote
the love for the newspaper as well as Coca-cola at the same time. The game also goes by it's Hebrew name, Xסופר טריק.
The protagonist in the game is a young boy distinguished by his clown-like face and a red hat worn backward.
To play the game, the player must help the boy locate the six missing pages of the newspaper which have managed to land
in the most unusual places, like forests, a castle, etc. To get to the pages the player needs to jump over high buildings and
other platforms and save himself from floating fireballs, bees, hedgehogs, lightning, and many such obstacles.
These obstacles move along their established trajectories and can kill the protagonist on coming in contact. To avoid them, the
player must jump over them. The player can pick up weapon upgrades on the way and replenish himself with the coca-cola cans
placed in specific locations. The obstacles have their own defense system against these weapons and the player needs
to be specific while using them. At certain locations, the player comes across question marks, which reveal fragments of the
missing newspaper pages. To reach the next level, the player must defeat the monster, which is a flying man wearing a helmet
with horns on both sides. The monster is armed with iron balls with spikes on them, which it releases on the protagonist.
