Description
SuperKarts is an Arcade racing game, that was released in 1995. The game was developed by Manic Media Productions Ltd. and
uses the DOS platform. It is known to be one of the best PC racing games of the time. It topped the sales charts in the
United Kingdom in 1995. As per the 'Next Generation' magazine, SuperKarts offers the perfect blend of strategy and action.
However, it has also drawn some criticism for being too similar to Super Mario Kart.
SuperKarts has a go-kart theme with simple arcade-style gameplay. A player can choose a face and a nationality and gets a racing
track as per the country of their choosing. For example, if the player chooses Brazil as their nationality, they will receive
a mainly grass surface and partly sand and wood, accompanied by bright weather. If the player happens to choose The United
States, They will receive a sandy track and bright weather. The weather and the track conditions change according to the climate
and conditions in each country. The game has sixteen different race tracks and one bonus track. The nationalities to choose from
are the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Australia, Brazil, India, and Russia with Indonesia as the bonus track.
Each track has two variants, making it a total of sixteen tracks. The graphics are pixelated and developed with keen attention
to detail. The player can grab random bonus items on the track such as Kart repair and Turbo boost. The game also offers a
multiplayer option and can accommodate up to 8 players on a network. ManicKarts is a sequel to SuperKarts.
