Description
Superheroes is an action and arcade game that was released in 1992 in the United States. The game was published and developed by
Acord games and was released for the DOS platform. The game features four superheroes who team up to save the world from aliens
and their destructive weapons.
The game starts with an interesting premise: a player is sitting in front of the computer screen, absorbed in the game,
in a trance-like environment. Suddenly a lightning bolt comes in through the window and passes through the player and the
computer screen. After experiencing complete blackness for a few moments, the player realizes that he has been transported into
another dimension and space, resembling the landscape on his computer. This unknown world is called Neverwhere, from where
the player needs to escape. He also finds himself in a superhero costume, equipped with certain special powers, which enable him
to fight his enemies in the enchanting world of Neverwhere. The enemies are aliens that move in all directions, and the player
needs to go through an intricate maze made of bricks to destroy them. Coming in contact with an alien ends the game.
Superheroes features the Accord superheroes - Zapper, Zapman, Zoose, Captain Zapn, Major Marvel, and a few others.
As the game progresses, it takes us through eighteen new worlds. The superheroes run, shoot and jump through each level,
inhabited by menacing Aliens. The arrow keys are to move around, Spacebar fires the weapon, Z jumps left, x jumps right, and
A fires the secondary weapon. F5 saves the game and F2 loads it. F2 is for inventory/health screen and P is for picking up
objects.
