Description
Taking Care of Business is an arcade action game developed and published by Moonlite Software in 1994. It was released on the DOS
platform. The full version of the game has sixty levels.
The main protagonist in the game is Demolisher Dirk. The player needs to guide Dirk toward the exit of each level by stacking and
rearranging crates. These crates, also known as Transfer boxes, have a mind of their own where they can not only be raised and lowered,
but also jump with the character. The character can also pick up and carry a crate with him. The format is similar to a puzzle game with
no enemies. There is no time limit either. However, there is a limited number of valid positions in which the crates can be placed.
If a player fails to reach the exit using the available combination of crates, he has an option to change the layout of the level by
flipping a switch. There are also a number of power-ups available in the game which allow the player to jump higher and blast through
walls. At the same time, The player must be careful to avoid the electricity arcs. The initial levels are fairly simple, but the
difficulty level rises significantly as one progresses in the game. There are also a variety of power-ups that get activated in the
higher levels, like super jump and stairs. The game also introduces teleports, and special types of crates which can float in the air.
Taking care of business is often compared with other arcade games such as Soko-Ban and Loader Larry, but it's an entertaining game in its
own right.
