Description
Teaching Tiles is an educational puzzle game for Toddlers and pre-schoolers. It was released in the United States in 1997, on the DOS platform.
Teaching Tiles features a grid, covered with tiles. Once a player clicks on a tile, it is turned over to reveal its contents. The player must
repeat the process to reveal another tile. If the contents of the second tile match with the first, then the game advances and the player can go
on to pick the third tile. However, if the first two tiles do not match, the game reverts to the starting point. The game has four gaming
options - Colours, Letters, Maths and Pictures. In the colour mode, the player simply has to match tiles of the same colour.
This mode helps the child in recognising different colours. In the letter mode, the player must match tiles containing the same letter but
in two different cases. In the picture mode, the player is required to match the tiles containing the same picture. The Maths mode offers more
variations and can be considered more challenging than the other 3. There is also an option of choosing the difficulty level in the Maths mode.
The level offers a mixed set of mathematical problems ranging from addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The player needs to
derive at the correct answer and match the tile accordingly. There is no time limit in any of the modes, so the child can take as much time
as required to solve the puzzles. The grid size increases with each level, starting with a 2*4, and ending at 5*6.
