The Kristal

The Kristal is a fantasy adventure game with a Sci-Fi theme. The game is based on a theatre play called 'The Kristal of Konos' that premiered in 1976. The game was released in 1989 and was developed by Fissionchip Software.
The game is set in outer space, and the main protagonist in The Kristal is a space Pirate named Dancis Frake. Dancis is on a mission to find 'The Kristal of Konos' which is being hailed as the answer to all of earth's problems.
However, the Kristal is being held by an evil being called Malvalla who is using it to wreak havoc into the universe. Dancis sets off to the planet of Meltoca to recover The Kristal of Konos and restore peace in the universe.
On reaching Meltoca, he needs to gather clues and solve a series of puzzles to locate the Kristal. In order to do so, he needs to interact with aliens and otherworldly creatures, and also fight them when they turn hostile. He also needs to travel between planets to gather the clues, while saving himself from being attacked by Aliens. Lucky for Dancis, he possesses certain special abilities that make his job easier, like super strength and psychic ratings. But apart from his abilities, the player also needs to spend a considerable amount of money, which is in the form of 'Skringles', to reach his objective. 'Skringles' is a form of intergalactic currency, that comes in handy in many situations, but is also in very short supply. To earn more of it, the player needs to indulge in sword fighting.
