Introduction
With Battle Level Editor you can create your own battle arenas for Threat
Deluxe battle game. You can play your own battle arenas from Threat battle
game menu.
We have included a sample level called fragment which you can test and
modify. Levels are named .LVL. Threat Deluxe can load 24 custom levels.
New in version 1.2:
Fixed bug that caused the players to start inside the wall.
Menus
Use arrow keys to move in menus. Return selects.
Press Esc to quit Battle Level Editor and confirm with Y.
Tilemap
=======
- Edit tilemap
Press F1 to have a quick help of keys in tilemap editing.
Creating tilemap is the most important thing when you are making a new
level. All the battle arena backgrounds consist of tiles. Tile is a
piece of graphics (16*16 pixels). In tilemap screen there are three
tiles in the down right corner. White rectangle middle of the three
tiles in corner shows the current selected tile. Some of tiles are
walls and some you can walk across. Note that background tile 1 is
always floor that you can walk across. Press DEL to insert background
tile 1.
!!! Warning !!! do NOT use CAPS LOCK because the keys are not working then.
Keys in tilemap editing:
A, W, S, D selects tile to insert
F2 shows screen of all tiles (choose tile screen)
It is easier to find the right tiles from here.
A, W, S, D choose selects the tile.
F2 or RETURN or SPACE return to tilemap edit screen.
arrow keys moves in tilemap
RETURN inserts selected tile
SPACE inserts selected tile
DEL deletes tile (inserts background tile number 1)
SHIFT + C copy tiles (choose area with arrow keys)
(works also in choose tile screen)
SHIFT + V paste

Destroys current tilemap. Press Y to confirm.

Returns to mainmenu.
Leveltitle
==========
Press return to edit title and Esc to cancel.
Player startpos
===============
Use arrow keys to select starting places for three players.
NOTE that if you place starting place inside the walls player can't move.
It's better to put players over the background tile 1.
Explosives
==========
Up and down arrow keys choose the number of explosives.
Down and up arrow keys choose the size of the explosive (16 = 1 tile,
32 = 4 tiles).
NOTE If explosive is not placed over wall tiles it can't be hit or
exploded.
Buttons
=======
When you press a button in game some of the walls disappear.
Up and down arrow keys choose the number of buttons.
White button rectangle is the area where button can be pressed.
First place the up left corner of button and press return then
adjust the size of the button with arrow keys and press return to accept.
Yellow rectangle shows which walls disappear.
Place the up left corner of disappear area and press return then adjust
the size of the disappear area with arrow keys and press return to accept.
Load level
==========
Press F1 to change directory or press return to enter the name of the
level to load.
Save level
==========
Press F1 to change directory or press return to enter the name of the
level to save.
NOTE Save doesn't ask if you want to overwrite file.
Quit
====
Quits to dos. Press Y to confirm.
