The video game Tycoon: the commodity market simulation is a text-based game of the year 1983. The game was released by Blue Chip software for Apple II, Commodore 64, DOS, Atari 8-bit and Macintosh platforms. The game features managerial and business simulation.
In the simulation game Tycoon: the commodity market simulation, the player plays the character of an investor in the commodity market.
Begin with 10,000 dollars in hand
The Tycoon: the commodity market simulation casts the player in the character of an investor. The player begins the game with 10,000 dollars cash in his hand. The task of the player is to increase the money by turning the money which he has into something big. The player does so by purchasing and selling several commodities and investing in something which earns him profit in the future.
In the beginning, the player starts the game as a novice. The player can only trade in a restricted number of commodities and make long-lasting investments. The player can increase his net worth by being open to opportunities and trading in several commodities.
Gather 1 million dollars
Each turn in the game symbolizes a week. The player can survey and make note of the important aspects of the market by noticing the change in prices, going through newspapers, and giving feedback to the offers before determining his actions. The success of the player is determined by his net worth. In order to win the game, the player needs to attain the designation of Tycoon by gathering one million dollars.
In the game, only one player can play at a particular time. However, up to 14 players can make their personal accounts and save them in the game.
